What kind of plug is used in Vietnam?
Vietnam uses Type A, Type C, Type F, and Type G power plugs and sockets. The country's electrical supply operates at 220 Volts and 50Hz, which is important to consider when traveling with electronic devices. Ensuring compatibility with Vietnam’s power system can help avoid inconvenience and the need for extra adapters.
Type A plugs have two flat vertical pins, commonly found in the United States and Canada. Type C is more typical in Europe, featuring two round pins (4.0mm). Type F is similar but with slightly larger 4.8mm round pins, commonly used in Germany and other European countries. While all these types can be found in Vietnam, travelers should check their devices and bring the appropriate plug type or a universal adapter.
Among these, Type G is often considered the best power plug to use in the country. It features two horizontal flat pins and one bottom grounding pin, making it widely used and providing a stable connection. Since electrical standards can vary even within the country, having a universal adapter or a multi-plug power strip is highly recommended for visitors to ensure smooth usage of electronic devices.
